CAMARILLO, Calif. — On Wednesday, January 27, the Department of the Navy, Clark Realty Capital, and Lincoln Military Housing celebrated the grand opening of Catalina Heights, a redeveloped family housing community that will feature 32 single-family homes and 283 townhomes upon completion. The Partners for Excellence event officially welcomed home the neighborhood’s first residents to 150 completed houses currently being prepared for move-in. The ceremony highlighted the innovative partnership between Clark Realty Capital, Lincoln Military Housing, and the Navy, called San Diego Family Housing (SDFH). The Navy’s largest public/private venture to date, SDFH encompasses over 12,500 homes in more than 50 communities across California and Nevada. Catalina Heights, part of the fourth phase of SDFH development, marked the latest successful milestone for the partnership.

The re-opening of Catalina Heights has greatly increased Military Family Readiness and therefore mission readiness for all personnel at Naval Base Ventura County.”

Constructed by Clark Builders Group, the high-quality new homes are replacing 315 outdated homes originally constructed in 1959. Designed by Torti Gallas and Partners, the spacious new homes feature Spanish-Missionary-style architecture in a mix of three- and four-bedroom styles. The community also includes 15 handicap-accessible homes. All new homes have two-car garages that provide the extra storage space needed by Navy families. Neighborhood amenities include a LEED® Silver certified 6,500-square-foot clubhouse with an adjacent outdoor swimming pool. The new community center is located within a new central park that also accommodates an existing youth center. Scattered tot lots and green space provide additional outdoor recreation areas for residents.

Following the ceremony, the partnership hosted an open house reception for guests to tour two model homes and the Catalina Heights Community Center.
